The Sinful Blade

How many times in life; the feeling of taking revenge might have dwelt in our mind.
When we were kids, growing up, small small incidents did occur which made us hold a grudge on someone. It's with the growing maturity that we start realizing that revenge won't bring us any good. The only thing it can bring about is repentance. Inculcating the feeling of revenge stops our growth; we seize to bloom further.

But having said this, even the level of maturity we might have may not avoid us falling into the clutches of the demon (revenge).
I think it can't be avoided..I mean not inculcating the feeling of revenge within us can never be the ideal situation. But if we could strengthen our inner self and bring about a certain level of clarity in our thoughts, then falling for this emotion of revenge can be avoided to a good extent.

"Revenge is a sinful blade that leaves a fatal cut on the hand of the one who wields it"

@Hitesh: Actually its human nature that if someone hurts you in someway, definitely you have a feeling to take a revenge. After all we are animals - ofcourse the social animals.

People go on revenge path mostly for smaller and trivial things or issues which has no base. If we not give the importance to those things than you can avoid revengenous feelings.I know, its a bit difficult to put those smaller issues in a dustbin.

Another point is, when there are incidents in life which put people in such a condition that they wants to take revenge against society, caste, institution or many more things. When it happens than it become disasterous for every one and creates lots of disorders. At that time, also you have pointed , "only inner voice can help the person" or "the firm belief in non violence".

@all - I don't know how it feels to really take a revenge..never had to experience it. But what I most experienced is getting angry on small issues or grudges. But if we can keep a cool mind for a few days then those feelings do go away. But there is always the unknown fear of what will happen if the situation is real hurting types...then you need some way to get rid of those clouds of revenge. Can just hope that people find ways to avoid wielding this blade
